Visit Marina Bay Sands

Visiting Marina Bay Sands is always on the top of everyone’s bucket list item. Whether you choose to have a drink at one of the rooftop bars or wander around the shopping centre, the Marina Bay Sands has something for everyone.

While you are in Marina Bay Sands, order a Crazy shake from Black Tap Craft Burger and Beer. This milkshake is an art in itself, and it will take you everything you have to finish it.

Watch the SuperTree light show at Gardens By the Bay

Enjoy this area by day and then come back at night for the free light show. It does get busy during the evening, so get there a little early and park yourself down for a spectacular light show. Wander through the Gardens by the Bay in the daytime to discover the magic of the area. Purchase a ticket online for the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome and be wooed by this well maintained indoor forest.

Explore Little India’s culture – A must add Bucket List Singapore item

Enjoy Little India’s culture by visiting the oldest Hindu Temple in Singapore. Sri Mariamman Temple is opened to the public at 7 am – 12 pm and 6 pm – 9 pm daily. After wandering the streets, duck into Tekka Centre., for the ultimate hawker’s market-style lunch. Or try Amaravati Indian restaurant for their lunch specials, as the service is fast and the cost is affordable.

Get lost in Haji Lane

There is so much to do in Haji Lane and the surrounding area. Haji Lane has many boutique-style shops, cool bars and loads of places to take that great Instagram photo. This street is fun at any time of the day; you can eat brunch at Hangar, stop off for a coffee at Selfie-Coffee (yes, your face is really on it), or enjoy a cocktail at night at Bar Stories (a cool bar that makes a cocktail uniquely for you).

Kampong Glam singapore

Discover Kampong Glam

Kampong Glam has so much to offer, with its shops that make you feel like you have stepped into a bazaar in the Middle East, to the many Middle Eastern restaurants, this is a great place to visit. Spend some time visiting the Sultan Mosque, which is rich in history (built-in 1824) the Sultan Mosque has a prayer hall that can accommodate up to 5000 people.

 Try a little Korean-Mexican Fusion

Visit one of my favourite restaurants in Singapore! Vatos Urban Tacos is a fusion of Korean and Mexican cuisine. Try the Kimchi Fries or the Bulgogi Tacos for a little bit of fun, or share a Corona-ritas (yes they are that big) which are a mix of a margarita and Corona Beer. Either arrive early or consider booking at Vatos Urban Tacos as this restaurant is busy every day of the week.

8- Stop by Central Perk Cafe

Okay so if you are a fan of the tv show friends then stop by the Central Perk Cafe. This cafe has friends tv episodes playing on the screens while you sit on the iconic lounge that is always featured in Friends. Admittedly it isn’t the original set, but it is fun to relive the episodes with the many props in this cafe.

Enjoy a Gin and Tonic at the Atlas Bar

If you like an old-world charm feel and a gin beverage, then this is a must-do! The Atlas bar has a thousand different varieties, in this Gothic looking establishment. The past few years this bar has been nominated in the top 50 bars in the world on numerous occasions. If you are not a gin lover then that is also okay, there are so many other options to choose from, so you won’t miss out. Book in advance because the wait time can be hours.

Ride the Singapore Flyer and add it to your Bucket list Singapore agenda

The Singapore Flyer is 165cm, and it is the largest observation wheel in Asia. The Singapore Flyer has the best view of Singapore, so either book the 1 hour, 4-course meal option and take in the spectacular night view or a 3 tier afternoon tea option. If it is just the view, you are after then book online for the Singapore Flight option and spend the time taking in the view only.

Taste the iconic Singapore Sling

You can taste this cocktail all over Singapore. However, there is nothing better than sitting at the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel. After ordering your Singapore Sling, sit back and enjoy the peanuts (literally). The Raffles Hotel is a favourite of mine. I love the Colonial architecture and the history behind it. Why not check out the boutiques in the hotel after your time at the bar, and pick up a gift or two.

See Chijmes lit up at night

CHIJMES was initially the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ), which was a girls’ school that was established in 1854, and the original complex included three schools, an orphanage, the nuns’ residence as well as the chapel. As of 1996 Chijmes is known as a bustling hub for restaurants and bars.

See the bizarre grounds of Haw Par Villa

Haw Par Villa was once the residence of the Burmese-Chinese family who developed Tiger Balm. Although the home itself no longer exists, the grounds and the many statues are still there to view. The entrance is free, but if you want to feed the fish or turtles, there is a small fee.

So I will give you a few to choose from, Chopsuey Cafe is an Asian Fusion restaurant with a colonial feel. I take loads of visitors here and have never been disappointed. Blu Kouzina is a delicious restaurant for all those who love Greek food, and it has excellent cocktails too. Da Paolo has freshly made pasta dishes, delightful gelato bar and fabulous espresso cafe, what is there not to love about this restaurant.

Shop at Orchard Rd for a true Bucket list Singapore adventure

Orchard Rd has so many shopping centres and boutique stalls along one road; you won’t want to shop anywhere else. You can spend all day here without even getting through the entire street. If you’re going to stop for lunch or dinner, I would recommend Cuppage Terrace or Emerald Hill Road both have that authentic Singapore feel about it.
